So there is this video that is crawling the web. It seems to be a deleted scene from Michael Moore's "Documentary" Sicko in which we are treated to the greatest Utopian civilization on earth: Norway. And Oh - they have free health care. So anyway, this video is being slung around the internet as the final "Gotcha" of the movie because "No one would believe me" says Moore. So in the video, after a montage of Michael Moore - you know what, that is a lot to type. From Now on, Michael Moore is now that fat, stupid hobbit, Samwise. - So after a montage of Samwise naysayers and Fox News snippets, Samwise explains that no one would believe him that such a place exists. So we are treated to the utopia that is Norway. How nice. And it is a nice place.

Norway has a population of about 4.7 million people. That's about half the size of New York City excluding the 'burbs. They also have a GDP of about $207 Billion; half of which comes from Oil production. That's a GDP of about $44,000 per person. Not bad. Did you notice in the video where Samwise talks about Oil. He made it sound dirty if private citizens are in the business and not the government. Interesting. I am amused by the fact that a country's government can be in the oil business. But not America. Didn't we go to war for oil, Samwise? Big Oil is OK now? Thanks for letting us know. Does this mean that Samwise is going to pull his film: Dude, Where's my Country where he slammed the oil industry or Farenheit 9/11? 'Cause we are now contradictory it seems.

Norway also has virtually no gun laws. I found this intriguing because Samwise spent a lot of time talking about low crime and murder rates (as if that has ANYTHING whatsoever to do with free health care). But almost everyone in Norway owns a gun... Does anyone remember a little movie called Bowling for Columbine? You know, the one where Samwise hates the NRA and makes lack of gun laws responsible for violence in the US. That one. Samwise negated his whole anti-gun documentary with this video. Good Job, fat hobbit. Way to think it through.

I found out some more facts about Norway.

About 75% of the workforce is in the Service sector meaning they work for the government. That means that not only do they provide their health care, they employ their citizens to provide it... big time. This also would account for the high employment rate. No job? Come work for the government.

Income tax is at 47% and sales tax is 25% on most goods. Food and stuff is taxed at a modest 17%. So much for "Free" healthcare.

Businesses pay 25% of their profits in taxes. Seems like a lot until you compare it against the US. States take between 27 and 82% of profits from business in taxes depending on which state you live in. North Carolina is the lowest while Alaska hits that 82% mark. That is just the state taxes.

There is no minimum wage law in Norway. The lowest wages average $12-15 per hour which is not bad considering there is about a 5 to 1 ratio on the Kroner to the Dollar.

Cost of living on average is 30% higher in Norway than in the US and Norway ranks as one of the most expensive places to live.

Norway is NOT part of the EU.

There is a lot we can learn from Norway.
1. International Treaties and Unions are for the birds.
2. Mass gun ownership = lower crime.
3. Wages are higher without Minimum Wage laws.
4. Let the businesses keep most of their profits.
5. Lose 98% of the US population, move everyone left to Alaska, put everyone to work for the government and tax the crap out of them, make the government an oil and banking baron and you too can afford to be a social state.
