First off... This video.
Now that this has been pointed out... the press is making some really interesting excuses as to why. A link to the "...but but but" article can be found by clicking
here.
The excuses for not standing for President Bush include:
Briefings in this room are informal.
The president gets to the podium too quickly.
Standing obstructs cameras in the back of the room.
On why they stood for Obama:
It was many reporters' first day and they just didn't know the protocol.
Those who stood were rude to the people in the back.
Let me address these excuses one at a time.
1. Briefings in this room are informal.
Then why stand for Obama?
2. The president gets to the podium too quickly.
So does Obama.
3. Standing obstructs cameras in the back of the room.
Obama must project through people because this one was ignored when he was in the room.
4. It was many reporters' first day and they just didn't know the protocol.
Right...
5. Those who stood were rude to the people in the back.
...and the sun was in their eyes, right?
Just remember, folks... The media is not biased. Fox News is.
