Spencer's Super-Happy Fun-Time Right-Wing Word Pit

The guy on the radio this morning, self avowed democrat, said that the Healthcare Industry as it stands is designed to make money off of poor people. Right. I am sure that the corporate execs are sitting in their chairs, wondering how to make all the money and one says, "Hey, you know how we can make a bunch of money? We can target poor people."

Then another exec says, "yeah, but don't the poor have like no money? Shouldn't we target, you know, rich people who actually have money we can take?"

Then the original exec says. "Shutup, we're going with my plan."

What an idiot.

Chris Matthews is an idiot. All this un-biased media crap is giving me a headache.

First of all, some nutjob liberterian (sorry Danny) shows up at a protest near a townhall meeting in an open-carry state legally open-carrying a gun. I am sure that he knew that it would get noticed and I am sure that he knew that it would garner him some press. However, he was well within his legal right to carry (openly) a firearm. There is also some flap about his sign that says something about it being time to water the tree of liberty. We will get into that in a second. So, Chris Matthews, the un-biased, objective moderator of Hardball on MSNBC pulls this guy on and starts to yell at him for having a gun. I have the video posted below, but I want to touch on some of the finer points before you watch it.

• Chris Matthews (Dipstick) tries to assert that the protester was actually in the townhall meeting. When the protester tries to clarify, Dipstick shuts him up.
• Dipstick asks the Protester if his gun was loaded. Protester chuckles and says that only and idiot would carry an unloaded gun. (win)
• Dipstick asks why he would be carrying a gun to the event. Protester begins to respond with something about the open carry laws and it being legal. Dipstick shuts him up immediately and goes on some tirade about being able to chew gum in church.
• Dipstick asks Protester of he thinks that Obama's presidency is legitimate. Protester answers yes. Dipstick then tries to paint Protester as a "Birther" and asks him the question again. When the Protester asserts that he is not really informed on this "Birther" stuff, Dipstick yells at him to answer the question.
• Dipstick asks him about his sign. When Protester tries to explain the context, he is immediately shut down by Dipstick who begins to ask "cross examine this witness" style questions.

• Dipstick asks the vaguest question in vague question history. "Let's talk about the history of people that carry guns to presidential events; tell me that history, sir!" To which the protester answers "wow." (looks bewildered) "Are you speaking of a particular event?" When Dipstick presses him more, Protester gives up and begins the history lesson of the right to bear arms and our forefathers. Then transitions into a bit about people in New Hampshire being fine with his gun toting, but the people who were bussed in from Mass. may have been alarmed. Well done, Protester.
• Dipstick: "What's wrong with the people in Massachusettes!?" Protestor: "Um, you know, they already have their healthcare scheme and their socialism going in their state; they should probably keep it over there." Me: "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Awesome."
• Dipstick asks some great "yes or no" questions like, was Roosevelt wrong to start Social Security - was Johnson wrong to start Medicare - was Wilson wrong to start Income tax. Protestor answers "yes." to all questions and then schools Matthews on history.
• Dipstick then begins to try to paint Protestor into a corner, after some q&a and clarifications on Protestors political beliefs, Dipstick asks, "So we've been on a slippery slope to the loss of our Republic, therefore you brought a gun to a meeting the President held today on health care..." Sensing the trap, the protestor answers: "Um... therefore..? I don't know about that. I live in New Hampshire, I open carry many places. As I said, many people [here are used to it] We're not New York, we're not Los Angeles; it's not like people hit the deck when you walk past."
• When the interview is winding down, Dipstick then starts to soliloquy about guns being associated with violence and a show of force. He then asks protestor point blank if he thinks that a firearm is a show of force. The protestor responds that it is NOT a show of force, but a defensive tool. You at home following so far...? Do you believe it is a show of force. No. Good. Next Dipstick follows up with "So bringing a show of force to a political event is not meant as a violent act?!" Wow.

There are more really great "Chris Matthews Failure" gems in this video. What strikes me as interesting is how calm the Protester is. One of these guys had class. The other did not. The internet is eating this up as "Chris Matthews totally rips right-wing nut-job" when in fact this video just show Chris Matthews acting like a spoiled buffoon.
